WESTPORT–A Westport man faces a felony charge accusing him of planting a tracking device in his partner’s car, town police said.
Brett Cohen, 55, allegedly placed a “YIP tracker” in a sub-compartment of the vehicle’s trunk, which the person being tracked discovered and reported to police on Sept. 3, 2025.
The partner alleged that the device was planted intentionally to track their movements. Westport detectives identified Cohen as a suspect after obtaining a search warrant for the device’s records, police said.
Cohen denied intentionally placing the device in the vehicle, police said.
He was arrested on April 9 and charged with electronic stalking of a domestic partner. He was released on $50,000 bond and is due in Superior Court in Stamford on May 28, court records show.
