WESTPORT – The Westport Police Department announced this week that the department’s four-legged officer, K-9 Grizz, received a new ballistic vest.
The vest was a generous donation from Brady’s K-9 Fund, a charitable organization in Bradenton, Fla. that was founded by an 8-year-old boy who felt K-9 officers deserve body armor, just like their human partners.
Brady’s K-9 Fund is passionate about supporting four-legged officers who work tirelessly to keep the community safe. Their organization is dedicated to providing essential equipment and resources to these brave K-9s, ensuring they are well-equipped and protected for their entire shift.
Since 2018, Brady’s K-9 Fund has raised over $1.6 million and has provided vests to more than 1,380 K-9 officers across all 50 states.
