
WESTPORT — “Agnes of God,” a drama exploring issues of faith, trauma and perceptions of truth, will be staged over the next three weekends at Westport Community Theatre.
The 1979 drama by by John Pielmeier, later made into a movie starring Jane Fonda and Anne Bancroft, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays March 28-29 and April 4-5 and 11-12, as well as 2 p.m. Sundays March 30 and April 6 and 13. There also will be a performance at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3.
All performances of “Agnes of God,” a joint production of Westport Community Theatre and Square One Theatre Company, will take place at the Westport troupe’s space in Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.

The play’s narrative concerns a young nun who mysteriously conceives and gives birth to a child, who dies, and the subsequent clash between a psychiatrist charged with investigating the incident and the convent’s mother superior.
Following the Sunday matinee performances March 30 and April 6, a discussion will be led by Jennifer Sokira, CEO of Connecticut Music Therapy Services, who specializes in work supporting people who are healing from grief, trauma and PTSD using music psychotherapy methods.
