BRIDGEPORT — Staples girls basketball rebounded from a 48-40 setback at Fairfield Warde last Tuesday with a 51-28 win at Bridgeport Central on Thursday. 

Staples improved to 7-7 overall for the season and 6-3 in FCIAC play.

The Wreckers led 24-17 at the half and pulled away after the break, outscoring Central 17-4 in the third quarter.

Ella Harrington scored 16 points and had four rebounds, three assists and two steals. 

Chloe Smith and Addie Talbott both scored seven points. Smith added 11 rebounds and a pair of blocks and Talbott had five rebounds and came away with a trio of steals.

Maeve Best scored five points, and had three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
