NORWALK — No. 3 New Canaan blanked No. 2 Staples High 2-0 in FCIAC Tournament semifinal action at Brien McMahon on Friday night.

New Canaan advances to face No. 1 St. Joseph of Trumbull in the title game, also at McMahon, at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Wreckers had beaten New Canaan 1-0 to begin the regular season. 

Staples was held scoreless only once before this season, a tie with Ridgefield.

Staples will look to bounce back in the State Tournament.
