WESTPORT — Top-seed Staples field hockey team handled No. 8 Fairfield Warde 9-1 in the FCIAC Tournament quarterfinals at home Thursday.

Storey Ahl led the way with a hat-trick, while Sofia Fidalgo netted two and Tyla Ozgen, Ella Ledenko, Leah Larit and Oakley Wilson also scored 

The Wreckers will face No. 4 Greenwich in the semifinals at neutral site Wilton High at 3 p.m. Saturday. The winner will face either No. 2 Darien or No. 3 Fairfield Ludlowe in the finals, also at Wilton, at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday.

During the regular season, Staples defeated Greenwich 2-0, beat Darien 5-2 and topped Ludlowe 9-1.
