WESTPORT — A memorial service for firefighters fallen in the line of duty will take place June 6 at Church of the Assumption.

The service is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the church, 98 Riverside Ave.  

It will be the 38th annual memorial service hosted by the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters Association, and is co-sponsored by the Westport Fire Department and International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 1081.

A gathering is planned afterward at the Joseph J. Clinton VFW Post 399, 465 Riverside Ave.
