WESTPORT — Three new officers were added to the ranks of the Police Department on Friday.

Officer Ashley Calvao, 26, from Monroe, is a graduate of Shelton High School and has completed course work at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport.

Calvao has family ties to both the town of Westport as well as to the field of law enforcement. Before joining Westport police, she was employed at Bridgeport’s Emergency Communications Center where her duties included working as a 9-1-1- emergency dispatcher for both police and fire, fielding emergency calls.

Officer Sean Fitzpatrick, 30, of Stratford, is a graduate of Stratford High School, Housatonic Community College  and American Military University. 

Fitzpatrick holds the rank of E5-sergeant for the United States Coast Guard.

Officer Tyler Mingo, 30, is a lifelong resident of Norwalk, is a graduate of Norwalk High School and has completed course work at Norwalk Community College. 

He is a volunteer firefighter in Darien and has been employed by Westport’s Highway Department for the last seven years.

Police Chief Foti Koskinas welcomed the new officers and thanked them “for taking a chance on Westport PD,” recognizing they also had other employment opportunities.
