The Staples boys soccer team headed to Danbury on Friday with two starters out sick.

But Adam Syah returned after an illness. Cormac Mulvey made the most of his start.

With Ben Douglas and Dylan Hoke anchoring the back line, and Nick Sikorski looking sure-handed in goal, the Wreckers had a clean sheet.

But they could not dent Danbury’s defense, and the teams settled for a 0-0 draw. Staples, now 1-2-1, hosts Westhill at 4 p.m. Monday at Wakeman Field.
