SOUTHPORT — A special presentation at the Pequot Library next week will discuss drones and the future of modern warfare, with the guest speaker appearing live from the front lines of the war between Ukraine and Russia.

The discussion will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10th. Perry Boyle, the founder and managing partner of MITS Capital, will join moderator Jack Leslie for the event. The live virtual broadcast is being produced by Rodney Productions.

Boyle will offer a firsthand perspective on how drones and other emerging technologies are changing how warfare is waged. He will also address how Ukraine’s defense innovations offer lessons for other nations, and “the role that private capital plays in accelerating innovation and defending democracy.”

The event complements Lines of Liberty: Maps, Power, and the Making of America, the library’s fall Special Collections exhibition. This showcases the role of maps and mapmaking in the Revolutionary War.
