FAIRFIELD–On Saturday, more than 650 men and women from Westport and surrounding towns gathered at Fairfield University’s Quick Center to celebrate and support Westport’s Homes with Hope.
The “Stand Up for Homes with Hope” is an annual benefit featuring an hour of clean comedy from a world-class entertainer. This year, the comedian was Kevin Nealon. In prior years the comedy was delivered by Tom Papa, Dustin Nickerson and Roy Wood, Jr. Guests hear about the progress made at Homes with Hope and have the opportunity to bid on donated auction items.
Helen McAlinden, the president and CEO of Homes with Hope, said the event was the “most successful ever,” raising more than half a million dollars. McAlinden added that “Homes With Hope supporters were very generous …. Westporters are very supportive and loyal toward our mission.”
The benefit has fans at Town Hall.
First Selectman Kevin Christie went with his wife, Regina. Christie said, “It was a great evening and an opportunity to recognize the important work Homes with Hope does to address housing and food insecurity in our community.”
Third Selectman Don O’Day–who attended with his wife, TK, said it was “another great event led by the amazing Helen McAlinden. Homes with Hope does God’s work under Helen’s leadership.”
