FAIRFIELD–A balanced scoring attack lifted Staples boys basketball to yet another lopsided victory. The Wreckers had five players with double-figure scoring en route to a 84-51 win at Fairfield Warde Friday night.

Staples improved to 12-0 overall and 8-0 in FCIAC play; Warde stands at 6-7 and 4-4.

Dhilan Lowman hit five of Staples’ 10 baskets from 3-point range and racked up 16 points.

Austin Heyer scored 15 points, three assists and two rebounds. Mason Tobias and Sam Clachko both had double-doubles; Tobias logged 14 points and had 12 assists, eight rebounds and a pair of steals and Clachko recorded 13 points, a dozen assists as well, eight rebounds and a steal.

Jack Jacob recorded a baker’s dozen points and had four rebounds and two steals. Henry Veissid scored seven, Matty Corrigan had two points, four blocks and three steals; and Ollie Vynerib added three points.

The Wreckers will visit Fairfield Ludlowe (10-3 overall. 6-2 in conference play) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3.
