MILFORD — Goals came early and often as the Staples High boys hockey team skated to a 7-3 win over the Milford co-op squad at Milford Ice Pavilion on Saturday.
Jameson Russell and Tyler DiMaio both scored twice for the Wreckers.
Russell got the scoring started, assisted by DiMaio and Derek Wolgast. Levi Nevstad was set up by Wolgast and Connor Moynihan, and Cooper Paul was assisted by Jacob Serfaty for a 3-0 Staples lead after one period of play.

Russell was assisted by Jake Baker and Wolgast in the middle stanza; it was 4-1 Wreckers after two periods.
Wolgast was assisted by Moynihan, and DiMaio scored unassisted and added another tally, set up by Serfaty and Jacob Gomez in the third.
Goaltender Aaron Kail made 35 saves.
The Wreckers take on Trumbull at the Rinks at Shelton at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Heading into the regular-season finale, DiMaio has 18 goals and nine assists for 27 points, Nikos Ninios has logged five goals and 12 assists for 22 points, Paul has 12 goals and eight assists for 20, and Wolgast six goals and 13 assists for 19.
