WESTPORT — Ducklings in distress have Westport firefighters to thank for their rescue Wednesday.
Things turned foul when the fledgling water fowl, wandering along Riverside Avenue, tumbled through a storm drain grate to the great consternation of the mother duck, according to a post on the Fire Department’s Facebook page.
But after being alerted to the ducks’ dilemma, firefighters sprang into action … and pulled the little ones from their pipeline peril.
Lucky ducks, indeed.
