Johnna Danielle Craig, 81, of Westport, entered into eternal rest on Dec. 15, 2023. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Johnna was born in 1942 in Norristown, Pa., to Joseph and Ann Paciello as the middle of three daughters. When she was a child, her family moved to Devon, where their home became a gathering place for family and friends for many decades. Johnna graduated from Cabrini College in 1964 and worked in interior design.

In the 1970s, she fell in love with the rocky shoreline of Connecticut and made it her adopted home. She and her husband, Jeff, raised three daughters in Westport.

Johnna was passionate about Native American art and culture, nature, birds and her precious feline companions: Moonie, Booker, Bandit, Chocolate Chip and Skizz.

A lifelong night owl, Johnna could always be reached by telephone for a midnight chat and spent many happy hours doing so with her sisters. She will be remembered for her cooking, especially her famous chili and Waldorf salads.

Johnna was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Butchie, and her grandson, Ryan.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff; her daughters, Nicole (Brian), Danny and Gabby (Matt); her sister, Dana (Tom); brother-in-law Herb; grandchildren Nick, Owen, Anya, Allie, Rebecca and Jordan, and beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wants to extend special gratitude to Johnna’s physicians, Dr. Eugenia Vining and Dr. Harold Tara; caregivers Veronica and Holly from BrightStar; Cathy and Theresa from Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, and Sharon Mack and her specialty team, whose care and kindness helped make for a gentle and loving goodbye.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Closer to Free Fund for Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center in New Haven.
