JoAnn “Joey” Lindwall, 75, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, after a brief illness.
JoAnn was the daughter of the late Waldo Jamul and Theresa Testa Walsh. She attended schools in Norwalk and raised her family there before moving to Weston, where she lived for many years before returning to Norwalk in 2024.
In 2002, JoAnn began a successful career in real estate—a field that allowed her natural charm, energy, and people skills to shine. She worked with dedication and enthusiasm until her retirement in 2024, earning the respect and friendship of colleagues and clients alike.
Known for her bubbly personality and infectious energy, Joey was always the life of the party and brought joy to everyone around her. She loved to travel, especially to Elbow Cay in the Bahamas—a place that allowed her to fully indulge her love of the beach and spend hours swimming in the crystal-blue ocean waters she adored. Closer to home, she found happiness at Compo Beach, where her legendary picnics became a beloved family tradition.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Edward Lindwall; her mother, Theresa Walsh; and her sisters, Gale Pennell and Donna Blosser. She was a devoted mother to James Scott Lindwall (Karen Jaber) of Fairfield and Mark William Lindwall (Mary Ann) of Westport.
JoAnn took immense pride in her grandchildren — Zoe Lindwall, Amber Myer, Robert Myer, Patrick Lindwall, Julia Lindwall, and Kevin Lindwall — who brought her endless joy and laughter. She also adored her dogs, Jacks and Lola, who were constant companions and brought her great comfort and happiness.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
