My Family’s Holocaust Story at Fairfield Public Library

Renee Bronner Pessin tells the story of her parents, Helen and Sam, Holocaust survivors who met while imprisoned in a concentration camp during World War II. The only surviving members of their large, extended families (except for one of Sam’s brothers) after the war, they reunited, married, and eventually moved to America. Helen went on to give video testimony about her experiences to the Shoah Foundation, and using this–together with her parents’ stories and family photographs–Renee shares the horrors of the Holocaust in the hope that history will never repeat itself.
