NORWALK – The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is accepting applications for the second year of its Maritime Aquarium Scholars Program.

Launched in 2024 in partnership with Linde, the program offers $3,500 scholarships to three undergraduate students each year. To expand access to careers in marine science and conservation, the program pairs the financial support of the scholarships with mentorship and hands-on learning experiences at the aquarium. Students spend at least six days at the aquarium conducting activities including community science projects, data collection, and professional development.

The scholarships are open to students enrolled in an undergraduate program in Fairfield and Westchester Counties pursuing STEM fields related to ocean and coastal environments, marine conservation, or other science education disciplines.

“We’re thrilled to continue this impactful program with Linde,” said Tom Naiman, vice president of education at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. “Last year’s scholars brought incredible energy and curiosity to their work, and we’re excited to welcome a new cohort of students who are passionate about protecting our blue planet.”

Scholarships must be submitted by Friday, October 31. More information is available here.

Expanded coverage of Fairfield County cultural events is made possible with support from the Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts.
