WESTPORT–In a unique way to end off their summer lineup of events, Wakeman Town Farm will host a ‘Sip + Shuck’ event with two local vendors: Saugatuck Oyster Company and Tuck Gin.

‘Sip + Shuck’ will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 30, the last Saturday of the month. The price of admission is $85 per-person. As the number of guests is limited, WTF advises that interested parties should buy their tickets sooner rather than later.

The adult-only workshop will combine a “spirit to learn” with true spirits. 

Aw, shuck!

Guests will hear from Hunter Peterson, Saugatuck Oyster Company’s proprietor, how to safely and properly shuck oysters. Petersen will also talk about the anatomy of oysters and the history of oyster farming in Connecticut.

Two sips

Weston’s Tuck Gin will be on hand mixing cocktails, especially curated to accompany the oysters. Their Gin and Tonic uses Fever Tree’s artisanal tonic and their Tom Collins will use fresh rosemary from the farm’s garden.

Wakeman Town Farm will host a variety of events throughout the last weeks of August, including a Summer Dinner on the Farm on Aug. 28 and their farmstand every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
