WESTPORT–About 1,500 people attended the Parks and Recreation Department’s third annual “Kickoff to Summer” event at Compo Beach Field on Saturday, June 13, according to Carmen Roda, Recreation Superintendent.
“We want to give Westporters–especially those new to town–the opportunity to learn about all the different, fun things that are happen over the summer,” Roda said.
The event featured soccer and football demonstrations, tennis and yoga instructors, informational stands from Westport Bike and Sustainable Westport and members of the police, fire and emergency services departments.
