WESTPORT — The Staples High School Boy’s Soccer team “cleaned up” Saturday afternoon with its annual car wash fundraiser, held in the parking lot of Christ & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Players were busy throughout the day tending to dozens of cars that came by for a scrubbing, with donated proceeds going toward the club.

“It’s been going on for many, many years,” parent Andy Laskin said of the event, which included an accompanying bake sale.

Most of the funds raised, he said, will go toward the end-of-season banquet for the team.
