WESTPORT–With the 2025 tax-filing deadline behind us, it is time to throw out your files pertaining to financial matters that are more than six years old, as per the IRS.
Fortunately, the annual William Raveis Real Estate 100% Charitable Shred It Event for Cancer Research will take place on May 9 at 47 Riverside Avenue, Westport, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All the revenue brought in through the drive will go to supporting these three cancer research centers:
- William Raveis Charitable Fund
- Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation
- Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Last year, more than 200 cars came with records to shred, accompanied by a couple of joggers and bicyclists.
The event provides secure document shredding. Participants watch from their cars as their papers are shredded.
Suggested donation is $10 per box or shopping bag, or $20 for a large garbage bag. Donations via cash, check, credit card or Venmo are accepted.
