WESTPORT–The Westport Transit District and the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce have combined forces to promote using Wheels2U to “Savour Saugatuck.”

With scores of restaurants and businesses, Saugatuck is more than just a train station. Every day, hundreds of Westporters flock to Saugatuck to shop for home decor or take a pilates class or meet friends for lunch, for dinner, for drinks or to do some stand-up paddle boarding on the Saugatuck.

Now Westporters can use Wheels2U to get to and from Saugatuck from anywhere in Westport from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Westport Transit District makes it “uber-convenient” to get a ride to and from Saugatuck. Westporters are encouraged to click Wheels2U and download the app.

Anyone 12-years-of-age or older can use the service. So, parents tired of cooking dinner for their middle-school-aged kids can have Wheels2U pick the kids up and take them back home.

“Saugatuck has so much to offer and now it is just a ride away”, added Matthew Mandell, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.

Wheels2U does its daily door-to-door service into and out of Saugatuck from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Everyone’s first five rides are free the first time you download the Wheels2U app.
