WESTPORT — It was a small gathering of people on the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge on Saturday in support of war-torn Ukraine, but the enthusiasm of protestors drew hundreds of supportive horn honks from passing motorists.

“People are dying every day,” said Mark Yurkiw of Westport, one of the organizers of the event, who is also of Ukrainian descent.

“Millions each day are being displaced or homeless,” he said.
