Organized by the town’s Department of Human Services, the fund devotes all donations to support income-qualified families “having difficulty covering the cost of food and housing, and high winter heating bills add to that stress,” according to the announcement  by Elaine Daignault, the town’s human services director.

“This program is critical to help bridge the gap for many hardworking households and seniors living on fixed incomes,” she added.

Tax-deductible donations to the Westport Warm-Up Fund can be made online or by mail to Westport Warm-Up Fund, c/o Department of Human Services, Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave., Westport CT 06880.
