WESTPORT — CraftWestport, the popular and widely respected showcase for crafts of all kinds, will take place Nov. 5-6 at Staples High School.
The event, sponsored by the Westport Young Woman’s League, will take place from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the school’s field house, 70 North Ave. It returns this year after a two-year pause caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Featuring 175 craftspeople and artists, CraftWestport will feature “one-of-a-kind and uncommon items, such as original fashions, accessories and jewelry; functional and sculptural works in ceramics, glass, metal, fiber, wood and mixed media; fine art painting, printmaking, drawing and photography, and more,” according to publicity for the event.
There also will be a cafe on the premises.
General admission tickets to the event cost $11. Tickets for those 62 years old and over are $10, for those 12 to 18 years old are $5, and there is no charge for children under 12.
Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here.
Shuttle buses will run from parking lots to the field house entrance.
“We are delighted to bring back CraftWestport for the first time in three years,” Julianne Bochinski, chairwoman of CraftWestport 2022, said in a press statement. “Our league was not able to host this beloved fundraiser since 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions in our community. That put a huge strain on our grants program over the past two years.”
The show, which has by sponsored by the Westport Young Woman’s League for 45 years, benefits charities supported by the club.
Net ticket sales support the league’s community grants program, which provides money to charities throughout lower Fairfield County. Past recipients have included Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Homes with Hope, Westport EMS and others.
