WESTON — An outdoor theatrical production at a local farm Saturday evening features a cast that includes Matthew Van Gessel, a graduate of Westport’s Staples High School.

The one-act play readings, staged by Play With Your Food, will take place at Lachat Town Farm, 106 Godfrey Road West. Grounds open at 5:15 p.m., with performances/talkback with the cast and director from 6. (Rain date is Sunday at 6 p.m.)

Attendees should bring their own chairs and refreshments.

The troupe’s Saturday play readings will include: “The Romancers,” described in a press release as a family comedy of intrigue, romance and deception by the author of Cyrano de Bergerac, Edmund Rostand. Also, “No Love, Please,” by Marisa Smith, and “All the King’s Horses” by Jack Rushen 

In addition to Van Gessel, the cast includes Betzabeth Castro, who recently starred as Maria in Fairfield Center Stage’s performance of “The Sound of Music,” Jeremy Funke, Sean Hannon, Sarah Eve Keller and Clayton Wheat.
