
WESTPORT — Local writer Margrit Strohmaier will mark publication of her second children’s book at an April 19 event at the Westport Library.
The book, “What to Know Before You Get Your Cat,” will be introduced during the Saugatuck Scribes’ “Healing & Caregiving” event, set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the library, 20 Jesup Road. Register for the free program by clicking here.
Strohmaier will be interviewed during the event by Julie Loparo, president of Westport Animal Shelter Advocates.
Strohmaier’s first book, “What to Know Before You Get Your Dog.” Received the American Book Fest “Best Book” award (Children’s Picture Book: Hardcover Nonfiction) and was a finalist in the children’s educational category, and winner of the Indie Reader Discovery Award, according to a publicity release for the program. Tracy Livecchi, author of “Healing Hearts and Minds: A Holistic Approach to Coping Well With Congenital Heart Disease,” will also participate in the evening’s program.
Copies of both writers’ books will be available for sale, and there also will a door prize drawing for a gift basket.
