WESTPORT — MoCA\CT will introduce the latest in its summer exhibitions, featuring an immersive display of large-scale painted panels celebrating Connecticut’s history and industries.

Michael Borders: Connecticut Industry will be on view from Thursday, Aug. 13th through Nov. 15th. An opening reception will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 10th.

The exhibition features eight five-by-ten-foot panels forming a cohesive mural that traces Connecticut’s development from its indigenous period to its colonial settlement and its modern day transformation through industrialization and technological ingenuity. Borders did extensive research into local histories and spent more than two decades painting as part of the process.

A resident of Bloomfield, Borders has been an artist for five decades and lectured and multiple local universities and schools. Connecticut Industry is part of the broader Looking for History exhibition at MoCA\CT, which also features Rick Shaefer’s Colossi (on view through Nov. 15th). It also featured Ellen Harvey’s The Disappointed Tourist, which closed on Aug. 2nd.
