WESTPORT — Collages by Jodi Rabinowitz are featured in the January artist-of-the-month exhibit at the Westport Book Shop.
A reception for the exhibit, on display through Jan. 31, will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the book shop, 23 Jesup Road. To register to attend, call 203-349-5141 or email bookshop@westportbooksaleventures.org.
Rabinowitz crafts collages from handmade paper showcasing diverse cultures and traditions. She uses a range of materials, including newspapers, tree bark, grass, banana leaves, cardboard, magazines, amusement park tickets, candy wrappers and more, according to the exhibit announcement.
“Life and art are full of unexpected twists, and these collages reflect the beauty of embracing that imperfection,” Rabinowitz said in the publicity release. “It’s good to color outside the lines.”
Prior to her artistic pursuits, Rabinowitz was a social worker in a New York City psychiatric emergency room, and later transitioned to corporate leadership development for several industries.
