WESTPORT — “Bad Accents,” a comedy/mystery, will get its first public reading April 24 as part of the “New Works” program at the Westport Country Playhouse.

The play, written by Matthew Greene, will be presented at 7 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the theater, 25 Powers Court.

Tickets cost $25 and can be reserved online by clicking here.

“Bad Accents” is described as “a light-hearted murder mystery dinner party among old friends [that] quickly turns into a whodunnit in its own right, as crimes from the past resurface in deadly and outrageous ways,” according to a publicity release.

The cast includes Katie Ailion, Adam Coy, Halima Henderson, David Rosenberg, Rodolfo Soto and Alexandra Templer.

The presentation is directed by Liam Lonegan, the playhouse assistant artistic director.

Greene, also a librettist and lyricist, had his play, “Thousand Pines,” given its world premiere at the playhouse.
