NORWALK — The talent of the students from Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts will be on full display tomorrow as they sing the National Anthem before a Major League Baseball game.
The 29 singers will deliver “a powerful tribute to America’s 250 years of independence, voiced by the very performers who will define the next generation of stars on stage and screen.” The performance will take place at 7 p.m. at Yankee Stadium, kicking off a game between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels.
The arrangement was specially created for the occasion by Fred Feeney, the Conservatory’s musical director. It is described as showcasing “the full expressive range of the versatile singers, drawing on the conservatory tradition of rigor, artistry, and emotional truth.”
“Our students don’t just study the performing arts—they live, eat, and breathe them,” said Feeney. “Performing the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium, in an arrangement honoring America’s 250th birthday, is exactly the kind of transcendent opportunity that defines an education at the Norwalk Conservatory.”
Danny Loftus George, the co-founder and president of the Conservatory, added, “These young artists are ready to move the world.”
Founded in 2018, the Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts offers accredited programs in musical theater, acting for stage and screen, commercial dance, and musical theater dance. The school recently began offering bachelor’s degrees.
Expanded coverage of Fairfield County cultural events is made possible with support from the Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts.
