WESTPORT — Four minutes into Friday’s game, Murilo Moreno headed Jaden Mueller’s corner kick into the Senators net. But, despite many chances – including a blast by Caleb Tobias off the crossbar — the Staples High School boys soccer team failed to score again.

Brien McMahon equalized just 53 seconds before halftime. The 1-1 draw dropped the Wreckers’ record to 9-1-4. They have one regular season match remaining: Tuesday, at Fairfield Ludlowe (7 p.m.). The FCIAC playoffs begin next Friday. Pairings will be determined after Tuesday’s season finales.
