WESTPORT — Staples boys basketball team turned in a dominant performance Friday, doubling up overmatched Bassick of Bridgeport, 84-42.
The Wreckers got scoring contributions from 13 players with the high point total being 11 from Charlie Bowman in this collective effort.
Adam Udell scored 10 and 11 teammates were in single digits as a balanced scoring attack unfolded. Sam Clachko, Nathan Smith and Austin Heyer all scored eight, while Dhilan Lowman, Andy Cerrito and Jack Jacob each had six. Caleb Smith and Drew Hill both scored five.
The Wreckers led 48-14 at the half and cruised to another win to improve to a 13-5 record with two regular-season contests left.
The Wreckers will visit St. Joseph of Trumbull at 7 p.m. Monday. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
