WESTPORT — The town’s public schools will open two hours later than usual Wednesday morning in the aftermath of Tuesday’s snowstorm and frigid overnight temperatures.

Supt. of Schools Thomas Scarice, announcing the delayed school schedule, said officials want to make sure icy roads and parking lots have been adequately cleared to ensure safe travel conditions Wednesday.

School buses also will be running two hours later than normal.

Classes were called off Tuesday by stormy conditions.
