WESTPORT – The Building Department issued a demolition permit for the house at 16 Dexter Road in January 2022.
The demolished house was a 1½-story cape cod built in 1946. It had 1,000-square-feet of living space, four bedrooms, a bathroom, a basement and a separate garage.
On the property today stands a 4,500-square-foot, 1¼-story Colonial+, with six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a half-bathroom, a basement area, a garage, a patio, a finished upper story, a three quarter-story and an unfinished attic.
The property traded hands in 2020 for $736,000 and last November for $2,275,000.
The assessed value of the property was $325,000 in 2020 and is $1,267,700 today.
Dexter Road is off Westfair Drive, between Post Road E and Bulkley Avenue N.
