WESTPORT — Eight “Students of the Month” for January have been selected at Staples High School.

The students are: seniors Claire Sandhaus and Frankie Lockenour; juniors Moses Beary and Curtis Sullivan; sophomores Luca Caniato and Shane Sandrew, and freshmen Annabelle Katz and Matthew Anto.

The honorees, nominated by teachers, help make the high school “a welcoming place for their peers and teachers alike,” according to the Staples announcement.

They also are “all-around good citizens” of the school, recognized for “the positive attitude they bring to school every day in making Staples High School a genial place in which to learn and teach.”
