WESTPORT — It was a spirited competition, but eight young artists have a magic touch, according to judges of the annual Halloween Window Painting Contest sponsored by the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce.
The winners were selected from among more than 75 children who decorated windows at 63 businesses around town with Halloween-themed images.
Gift certificates for an ice cream cake at Gofer Ice Cream will be presented to the winners.
“This was one the best painting contests we’ve had,” Matthew Mandell, the chamber’s executive director, said in a publicity release. “The kids and families were so enthusiastic and really enjoyed the event. A big shout out to all the businesses that answered the call for windows.”

Winners were selected in two age categories.
Elementary school winners:
“Scariest” — Chloe Robbin, Long Lots fourth grader, window at Cycle Dynamics.
“Best Halloween” — Scarlett Nathan, Saugatuck fourth grader, window at Stephen Kempson.
“Most Creative” — Calvin and Julian Carreras, Long Lots first and third graders, ASF window.
Middle school winners:
“Scariest” — Hailey Kipperman, Southport School eighth grader, window at Stephen Kempson.
“Best Halloween” — Lidia Morgan and Julie Ferraro, Bedford sixth graders, windows at Cold Fusion Gelato.
“Most Creative” — Milo Milgrom, Bedford seventh grader, window at Greens Farms Spirits.
