WESTPORT–The Board of Selectmen voted 3-0 on Wednesday to approve a construction termination and settlement agreement between the town and Martello Enterprise, LLC as it relates to the Compo Marina Seawall Replacement Project.

Martello was hired in December 2025.

Larry Roberts, the Director of the Department of Public Works, said the project was supposed to be finished late last spring, but the contractor had “personal and financial issues” and seemed relieved when the town talked to him about terminating the contract.

Roberts said the project was “95 percent complete” and that he was satisfied with work performed by the contractor to date.

Placing additional rocks on the seawall and grading and seeding a lawn area was all that was left to be done, Roberts said. He said a new contractor would finish topping off the seawall with stones and that the town would take care of lawn work.

“We are paying the contractor for work that has been completed,” he said.
