WESTPORT–The Westport Center for Senior Activities will host two “This Is Your Life” conversations.
Former ’60 Minutes’ writer/producer Tom Anderson will talk on Thursday, May 7, from 2-3 p.m. On Thursday, June 4, from 2-3 p.m., State Senator Ceci Maher will take the stage.
Tom Anderson
Though his tenure as writer/producer on CBS’s “60 Minutes” lasted over 30 years, Anderson has lived in Westport under the radar. He was awarded the Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting for his “60 Minutes II” segment, “Memories of a Massacre.” It investigates the actions of an American Navy SEAL unit under the command of former Senator Bob Kerrey, in Thanh Phong, Vietnam, in February 1969. Anderson will talk about his life and share stories of his years on “60 Minutes.”
Ceci Maher
Ceci Maher was elected to the Connecticut state senate in 2022 to succeed Will Haskell, who had personally encouraged Maher to run for his seat. Maher’s accomplishments on behalf of the children of Connecticut are substantial. As Maher has decided to not run for reelection, this event could be seen as a capstone to her political legacy
This Is Your Life
Since June 2023, the Westport Center for Senior Activities has been coordinating with The Legacy Project USA to present “This Is Your Life,” a series that gives the public a chance to enjoy and learn about the lives of the friends and neighbors among us, some of whom are well known, some who live quiet yet fascinating lives.
Rozanne Gates, co-owner of The Legacy Project USA, is the moderator of “This Is Your Life.”
“We are each our own witnesses to history and by telling our stories, we teach each other,” says Gates. “What we don’t know is what we need and want to know about each other. At ‘This Is Your Life’ we go beyond present-day accomplishments and delve into each person’s history long before they arrived in Westport.”

The event is free, but interested parties are encouraged to register by calling 203-341-5099.
