WESTPORT–StartUp Westport’s “Pitch” competition is down to five finalists. The winner will be chosen on Nov. 20 at the Westport Library at 6:30 p.m.

After a May announcement, 77 nascent businesses applied for the chance to earn a $25,000 investment. Of that group, 21 were invited to join “an intensive program featuring education from StartUp Westport mentors,” according to competition co-organizer Shobana Mani.

StartUp Westport is an organization that connects and supports business professionals — through mentorship, networking, and events.

This first-ever “Shark Tank”-style pitch competition follows an impressive preliminary showcase that exceeded organizers’ expectations.

The finalists are

• Mirabelle Medical
• Neuro Puffs
• Nexa Tax
• Wheel Price

CO-organizer Mani said: “We could not have been more impressed with the strength of ideas and continued execution,” 

The November 20th finale will feature a panel of Westport-based venture capitalists serving as judges, bringing real-world investment expertise to the competition.
